The role

Prospera is seeking to engage a high-calibre and experienced talent to provide the short-term service as a Small and Medium Enterprise Tax Digitalisation Adviser to its Revenue team. This position will support Prospera in providing assistance to Indonesia Directorate General of Tax (DGT) in their work on Core Tax Administration System (CTAS).

The Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Tax Digitalisation Adviser shall support DGT in the development of strategy and roadmap to establish an enabling environment for tax digitalisation of SME to broaden the tax base, reduce compliance and administrative costs, and promote cashless tax payments.

About you (Selection Criteria)

It is expected that the position will meet the following skills and qualifications:

  • Advanced qualifications in business administration, economics, public policy, engineering or related areas from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in, and significant technical knowledge of, small and medium enterprises, digital economy, and e-commerce in Indonesia.
  • Strong analytical and business modelling skills as well as demonstrated ability to produce high-quality presentations/reports.
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop strategies to establish an environment where small and medium enterprises could expand their businesses using digital platform and comply with their tax obligations.
  • Knowledge in e-commerce technology would be desirable.
  • Working experience with a reputable international consulting firm is a strong advantage.
  • High-level communication skills (verbal, written and presentational) in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

 About the program

Prospera is a partnership facility between the Government of Australia (through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and the Government of Indonesia. It aims to foster strong, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth in Indonesia. Commencing from 1 March 2018, Prospera is a planned five-year investment that draws together the former Government Partnership Fund (GPF) and Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Governance (AIPEG). 


The remuneration will be set according to National Remuneration Framework (NRF) Discipline Group C, Job Level 2 applies for Indonesia nationals. The remuneration level at which the Small and Medium Enterprise Tax Digitalisation Adviser is engaged will be based on the successful candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
