Program Officer

Then let us know! Because we have an excellent opportunity for a Program Officer to strengthen our Program Team who will be based in Jakarta.

The role

You will report directly to the Program Manager. As a Program Officer, you are responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the program with particular focus on program administration, program development, financial reporting, logistics and research. You are the backbone of the program, and it is your job to follow up on the strategic plans made by Program Managers. You will also get the chance to contribute to the team by delivering input on the various projects that are running under your program, as well as working to continuously improve the program.

Your key responsibilities

• Project running in various locations in Indonesia:

1. Facilitate implementing partners to present project learnings within reports and other learning avenues.
2. Facilitate implementing partners to fully understand learnings from Service Delivery Models outcomes.
3. Develop methods to capture project learnings in partnership with implementing partners.
4. Record and reconcile of financial administration, aligned with IDH’s internal control framework.

• Monitoring and evaluation:

1. Assist implementing partners in reporting (progress reports, annual reports, final reports).
2. Stand-by for potential operational project related questions by implementing partners and IDH.
3. Assist in monitoring progress of work plans and budgets, as well as the deliverables and results/outputs, and flagging potential risks to projects (via calls, visits, etc.).

• Active participation in national platforms including facilitate and support related taskforces.
• Maintain contacts with existing program stakeholders and establish network with other related public and private partners.
• Develop program’s communications strategy in partnership with Communications Team.
• Implement program’s communications strategy through videos and publications in partnership with Communications Team.

Who you are

You are a trustworthy experienced sparring partner for internal colleagues and external stakeholders. You are comfortable to support team in engaging with senior level government representative in district level and provincial level. You enjoy collaboration and teamwork, but you are also able to work independently.  Working in a results-oriented, flexible, cooperative, and hands-on manner. You know how to drive the process, keep focus and discipline, guide and evolve to a successful planned outcome.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English is an absolute for being successful in this role.

What you bring

• Have relevant degree/experience in agriculture social science/development studies, strategic/program management, or similar fields.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant working experience in international organizations/settings or similar fields.
• Prior experience, knowledge and networks in landscape and commodities sector, preferable in the coffee, cocoa and spices sector, though not essential.
• Strong knowledge of financial administration and budgets.
• Good experience in project and stakeholder management.
• Good writing, analytical, research and problem‐solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially a very good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability and willingness to travel to remote areas in Indonesia are required.
